On our way...

We just returned from a trip to California. We have had this trip planned for a couple of years to celebrate Scot's moms birthday. All of Scot's family was able to come for most of the trip. It was very much an adventure, but also tons of fun!!
We left on Saturday and drove to Cedar City to visit Marlayna and Dave. It was so great to see them. We don't get to see them nearly enough. It is great when they come to see us, but there are so many people that want to spend time with them, that it is a lot more fun to go down to Cedar and visit with them. Then you really get to hang out and spend time with them.
We met them for lunch at this great place called the Pastry Pub. It looks like kind of a dive, but the food was great. The kids were so excited to see Meymo and Dave. They all wanted to sit by them.
Since it was a rainy day, the Sno Shack wasn't open. So Meymo opened it for us. In the meantime, lots of other customers came. So she called in an employee to open it up. The kids always love to get free snow cones! Marlayna even let them help for a few minutes. They loved it.

Spencer loved his snow cone!
Then we went back to their house to hang out for a little bit. The kids love to play Rock Band with Dave.
They all took turns playing different instruments, and having a good time. I even tried it out for my first time. I am terrible, but it was fun anyway.
Spencer found a few ways to entertain himself. Mostly he just made a mess of their apartment.
We stopped in Cedar for about 3 hours. It was a lot of fun. I wished we could have stayed longer, but we needed to get back on the road.
We drove on to Vegas, where we spent the night.
The kids really wanted to go swimming. But the pool was really cold. Brave Scot took them anyway and they loved it. Scot didn't, but he was a great dad to take them down there. I stayed in the room and put Spencer to bed. Trust me, he needed it!
This is how I found the kids the next morning. Pretty hilarious! They are such crazy sleepers. After a stop at a Vegas church, the kids and I packed up and headed out to meet the family in Primm. Scot had to fly to Texas so we left him in Vegas. He met us in California Monday night. After we met up with the family in Primm, Kim rode with me the rest of the way. I needed someone to help me out with the kids for the last few hours of the drive.
We stopped at Subway for lunch. (Poor Subway workers. There were a lot of us.) My kids were so excited to see their cousins and aunts and uncles and grandma and grandpa. They were a little hyper, but we made it through lunch and got back on the road. We stayed in a different hotel from the rest of the group because of Scot's hotel points. So after we checked in we went over to hang out with the rest of the family at their hotel. Spencer was especially happy to be out of the car. The other kids loved playing with their cousins.
We grabbed some dinner and called it an earlier day since we wanted to get an early start the next morning. Although we were still up for a little while getting everything unpacked and ready. We ended up switching to a bigger room. Emma and Ben were big helpers so that we could get everything all taken care of.
We were all excited for a big day of Disneyland the next morning....
