Family Fun?

At the end of May we decided to do a 5k as a family. My parents business was sponsoring one nearby and my brother and his family and my parents and our friends the Williams were going to do it too. Unfortunately the day dawned very wet and cold. Major bummer for the end of May! But we bundled the kids up, pinned their numbers on and we were off. Fortunately the rain held off until the very end, so we didn't end up soaked. At first the kids were very excited and they took off running. We knew that wouldn't last long, and it didn't. After just a few minutes they started walking. And it wasn't long before our group was at the back of the back. Except for Grandma Pam, Seth and Bethany. They were the first to finish from our group. Seth and Bethany are 6, and they kept up with my mom the whole way.

About half way into the "race", Ben needed a little rest so Lucy got our of the stroller and ran. It was very cute.

And look, we actually did it. When we got close to the finish line that kids took off in a sprint. Good for them. They did a great job! It is a long way for little legs. But it felt great to do something like this as a family.
