It has become a family tradition in the Woodbury Family to have a Halloween Party the Monday of the week of Halloween, well since Halloween was a Monday this year we decided to have our party the day before. My kids always look forward to it.
The party is usually at Grandma and Grandpa's but since they are gone we hosted the party this year. It was a lot of crazy but a lot of fun too. Although I discovered later that night that somehow the kids had made a little hole in one of our doors. Oh well, that's the price of entertainment I guess.
We had dinner and decorated cookies. We also had Halloween Bingo. But there was a lot of excited energy from all the kids.

The next day was Halloween, but my kids didn't get to wear their costumes to school because they had missed the party day while we were gone. But it all worked out ok. Scot took the kids Trick or Treating and then we went and visited my Grandma. She always looks forward to seeing the kids in their costumes. And then it was a soup and corn bread dinner at my mom's house. Lots of fun had by all.
Emma's costume was rather creative this year. I made several suggestions to her about her options. She hated them all. She told me that all my ideas were too babyish. Ok...so she and Scot came up with this idea that she could be a monster box that ate all the candy. It turned out ok, but I still think it is a little on the odd side.Lucy was, of course, insistent that she be a princess and then it was Rapunzel that made the cut.
Ben tossed around several ideas. He really wanted to match Spencer, but Spencer changed his mind about 5 times a day. So finally Ben decided to be Tigger, which matched two of Spencer's every changing choices, Eeyore and Pooh. But in the end, he wasn't either of them.
Spencer wanted to be EVERYTHING for Halloween. He really did change his mind several times a day. He wanted to be Buzz Lightyear, an Alien, Elmo, Eeyore, Pooh, a dinosaur, a spider and so many others. Finally we let him choose from what costumes we had and he chose two different ones. He was a dinosaur for the family party and Elmo for Trick or Treating. He has already started changing his mind for next year. So far he wants to be Darth Vader, Jack Sparrow, Captain Hook, Elmo again and many others. Guess we'll see how it all ends up in 10 months. But if I buy or make him a costume, he will wear that one.
