Then we decided to walk to the top of the ski jump. The lady told us it was only about a 20 minute walk. So we thought, no problem. Well, it was actually more like a 60 minute walk with the little kids. The 4 oldest kids ran ahead of us, and had such a fun time together. But we were the slower traffic in the back.
When we got to the top, it was very cool, but all the kids were exhausted. And the little sprinkling rain that had been going on, turned into a downpour! So then we were wondering what we were going to do. So Scot called the people down at the musuem and asked them if they had a quicker way down, or if the men could run down and pick up the cars and pick the rest of us up. They said they would just send up the tour bus. Which they did, and it was so great! It would have been miserable if we had had to walk the whole way.
After that we split up. Our friends stayed in Park City to do a few more things. All except Matias, their son who is Emma's age. He came with us to the Utah football game.
Matias was very interested in seeing "American Football". Unfortunately, it rained, and poured the whole first half. Everything we brought was drenched. Emma and Matias were so cold that they were covering their heads with the blankets. Lucy wouldn't keep herself under the blanket, and Spencer was so mad at me that I wouldn't let him play in all the puddles. So at that point, I decided that half of an American football game was enough. So we went and got hot chocolate. And we didn't miss much of anything important in the game anyway.
When the game was over, and we picked up Scot. We went to meet our friends at Gateway so we could drop off Matias. We also had ice cream at this great yogurt shop there. They have tons of flavors and toppings and you are just charged by the weight. It was great!
On Sunday they came to church with us and then we had them all over for dinner at our house. Then we took a scenic drive through Salt Lake and stopped at the Church History Museum. Since the next morning they had an early flight, we had to say our goodbyes. It is always sad to say goodbye, but we were so glad to have them come visit. It is especially great to see how well all our kids get along together. Emma was particularly sad to say goodbye to Matias. They are such great friends! Hopefully we will get to see them again soon!
