Ducks, Eyes, & Toys

On Saturday, the Myllyla kids were out of school so we all got to spend the day in London. It was the best day yet! We all loved spending time together. And it was great to see the kids together. We rode the train in. Lucy and Topias loved watching out the window. It was interesting to see how each of the kids gravitated towards the child their age. When we hang out at the house, they all kind of play together or do things more based on their interests (like Wii or barbies), but in London they always stuck with their little partners.

We took a Duck tour. This is a duck boat. It drives on land and in the water. Lucy absolutely loved the Duck tour. She talks about it all the time. When we went down into the water she just giggled. It was very cute!

We got amazing views from the water, but mostly it was just a cool thing to do. Unfortunately we had the worst weather of our trip this day. It was rainy and kind of cold at times.

After our tour we went to the London Eye. Yes, it is sort of a giant ferris wheel. But it is huge and it moves so slow that you really don't even feel it. They don't even stop it to unload and load passengers. The kids had been looking forward to this the whole trip!

The smaller kids loved to look out the bubble from the bottom. I am not sure how much they saw from there, but it was their favorite spot.

Even Spencer loved it. He looks so big in this picture.

I love this shot of Lucy posing. And you can even see Big Ben in the background. So cool! I have to keep reminding myself that we actually did this. It still seems crazy!

The view were unbelievable, and you could see 360 degrees. It was such a cool thing to do, I am so glad that we did!

After we got off the eye we walked around Big Ben for a little bit. (I love that my Ben and Big Ben are on about the same level in this picture.)

After having some lunch, we took the kids to one of the coolest toy stores ever called Hamleys. Ben immediately knew he wanted another puppy, but there were so many to choose from. He finally settled on a dalmation he named "Thames" after the river. Booncy, of course, had to have a giant ball. (It was tricky getting that one home.) Lucy wanted a barbie, but it took her quite some time to pick from the many choices. Emma wandered around the whole store and didn't want anything. She was so funny. She just felt like nothing was cool enough. She didn't want just "stuff". She probably got that from me.

Then we went to Harrods because Emma really wanted to go there. But we were all tired and they didn't really have much in the way of soveniers that Emma was interested in. And it was so hard to get around with the stroller and their were tons of people. Lucy fell asleep on Scot's shoulder and Spencer in the stroller. Finally Scot and I just decided it was enough. Emma was disappointed because she had her heart set on buying something there. As we were leaving Ben saw this bear. He told me that we needed to take a picture with it so that we could always remember Harrods. I thought that was cute, becuase I really didn't want to remember our time at Harrods.

We headed back to the train station and got Krispy Kreme donuts. That made us all feel better! Emma even got some postcards, so the day ended ok afterall.
